Superior Court is celebrating the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln’s birth with a special Law Day event on Friday, May 1, at 12:00 P.M. at the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Auditorium. The event, open to the public, is co-sponsored by the State Bar of Arizona and the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education.
During the month of April, Arizona students in kindergarten through high school were invited to develop a video about how Abraham Lincoln’s legal background shaped his presidency and our nation’s history. To view the video submissions please go to: http://www.superiorcourt.maricopa.gov/MediaRelationsAndCommunityOutreach/CommunityOutreach/LawDay/index.asp.
Ten finalists will be invited to show their videos at the Law Day event and three winners will be chosen.
“Abraham Lincoln had a great impact on our nation and our constitutional democracy,” said Presiding Judge Barbara Rodriguez Mundell. “We are excited to provide the community with this event in which we will explore the Law Day theme, A Legacy of Liberty.”
