Juvenile Probation

Residential Treatment Center (RTC) Many families have problems that are serious enough that the juvenile is served best by living away from home for a period of time. Using funds provided by the state Supreme Court or Department of Health, a juvenile court judge can order a juvenile to the care custody and control of an RTC that is licensed by the state of Arizona.

Juveniles normally do not stay at an RTC for more than six months.

Some RTC’s treat only juveniles with specific problems like drug addiction or sexual problems. Parents are expected to be involved in the juvenile’s treatment plan, so when he returns home, they have the resources to deal with his specific problem.
