Arizona native Steven E. Sarkis was elected as Justice of the Peace in the Arcadia Biltmore Justice Court in the fall of 2008. Prior to running for Justice of the Peace, he gained his legal experience working in the Maricopa County Downtown Justice Center as a Judicial Clerk and Court Bailiff.

Before coming to the bench, Judge Sarkis graduated from Arizona State University’s College of Liberal Arts & Sciences with a B.A. in Psychology. During his clerkship within the court system, Judge Sarkis continued his education by studying to attain his Master’s in the Science of Psychology through the University of Phoenix. Possessing such an education has benefited him greatly on the bench.

Judge Sarkis is a board member on the Volunteer Policy and Procedure Committee, a group that aims to encourage the use of volunteers within the court system as a means of enhancing community interaction with the court and allowing community members to use their skills and abilities to help of their local justice courts.
