McVay has served as the Justice of the Peace for the
Northeast Phoenix Justice Court precinct since early
1989, after first being elected in the fall of 1988.
She has served on a number of judicial committees
during her tenure on the bench including the Arizona
Supreme Court committees on Alternative Dispute
Resolution and Limited Jurisdiction Courts. She also
has served on the Supreme Court’s "Quick
Court" Committee and was the legislative chair
for the Maricopa County Justices of the Peace.
Currently, Judge McVay is a member of the Arizona Magistrates Association, the Arizona Courts Association and the American Judges Association.
A native Arizonan, she is a graduate of Arizona State University and the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada.
