Protocol and Practice of Persons Appearing in the Court of Commissioner Bernard C. OWENS << return to previous page
Pre-Trial Practice and Management Issues Motion Practice • This Office receives Default and Garnishment Packets in hard copy. Other matters are typically filed electronically. Motions should be single subject. Motions and orders must be attached; otherwise the Court will reject the materials as a violation of applicable rules. It is important to do what the rules require to necessitate filing matters.

• Oral Arguments are requested by motion and scheduled with the Judicial Assistant. Counsel may present as desired on oral argument, knowing intervening questions will be voiced as needed.
Trial Practice and Protocol Courtroom Etiquette • Commentary during a proceeding is to be directed through the Bench; counsel must not address one another without permission.
