A family member, former spouse or roommate, or if the parties share a child together can get an Order of Protection. If a divorce is pending, the plaintiff must obtain the order in Superior Court. Order to Show Cause An order to appear before the court and present reasons and considerations why the previous order of the court shall be confirmed, enforced, or executed. Own Recognizance (OR) The release from custody without requiring any bond or other security. Some release conditions such as not returning to the scene of the crime or initiate victim contact are required.
